The THIS IS SMS app is free of charge. You only pay for the data traffic which is charged by you carrier.

THIS IS SMS is a so-called Freemium service. This means that it is free to use if you only want to use our basic service. When we launch we only do it with the basic service available. Our premium services will be launched later on. You can try the premium services for free for a period and then choose whether you want to buy them or just continue to use the basic service, which is to send free text messages simply. For basic service, you pay nothing to us but you pay for the data traffic that is generated to your carrier. To send or receive about 10 000 messages each 100 characters long, you use about 1 MB of data. Depending on your cost for data, your costs may vary. If your carrier takes 2 euros for a MB, the cost to send 1 text message with THIS IS SMS is as low as 0.02 Eurocents (0.002 SEK, or about 0.0003 dollar). However, if you have a data plan, your cost to use our service is even lower than that. Now there is nothing to keep you from texting more then ever.
