THIS IS SMS allows you to send messages to anyone with a mobile phone that supports Java. Nearly all phones produced after 2004 supports Java. The mobile needs access to the Internet.

We use Ping Call to alert you to messages when you are offline. Read more about Ping Calls below.

All messages you send and receive with the app are also displayed on your personal page on www.thisissms.com. In early 2010, we will launch a version that you can download to use on the iPhone and phones with Android.

Ping Call

Under “Settings” in the app you can set up something called ping call. Ping call lets you know you have a new message if you are offline. If you are not online (ie, the app is not running) we give you a call from this number +46855110616 and hang up after one signal. That way you know you have a new message to read. You can manage your Ping Calls from the app in your phone under settings. Make sure you save +46855110616 under the name “This is SMS” or something else you might find appropriate.

Contacts

You can import all your contacts from your mobile phon in to THIS IS SMS. The contacts then automatically adds to your personal page on www.thisissms.com If you loose your phone and reinstall THIS IS SMS all your contacts are downloaded to your phone again.
