Why is it called THIS IS SMS?
We wanted to create a smart new way of communicating between mobile phones. We wanted to this new service to have the same look and feel as SMS (text messages) but not cost as much. SMS stands for Short Message Service and that is what this is; thus THIS IS SMS.
How does it work?
THIS IS SMS sends the text messages over the Internet. This means that your carrier doesn’t bill you for the service.
Does T9/text recognition work with THIS IS SMS?
Yes, THIS IS SMS uses the same dictionary in your phone as when you are sending ordinary text messages.
How much data does THIS IS SMS use if I’m online all the time?
If you stay online for one whole month you will use less then 1 MB of data
I have a phone that doesn’t allow THIS IS SMS to run in the background. What can I do?
If your phone doesn’t allow THIS IS SMS to run in the background then the service Ping Call is exactly what you need. When you are offline our server calls you with an unanswerable phone call to let you know you have e new message. If you have a missed call from +45855110616 you know that there is a new message waiting for you.
What’s for free and what costs money?
To send a text message is for free. To use some of our premium services cost money. The premium services are for free the first couple of weeks when they are introduced so that you could try them. We willlet you know when premium services are available.
How does Ping Calls work?
Our server knows if you are online or not. If you are offline the server will place a call to your phone and hang up before you can answer. Then you know you have new message.
What is the limit of a text message?
When you send a text message from the app you can send 600 characters and when you are online you can send a whole lot more.
Can I use special characters in my text message?
Yes you can.
Can I send text message in Unicode format?
No, why would you like that?
How do I compose a text message?

Can I send text message to more than one person at one time?
You can send text messages to more then one user at the same time.

If they are online the message will be delivered instantaneously.
What number or name will people receiving my text message see?
The message sent through THIS IS SMS will originate from your mobile phone number.
Can I send text messages to any number?
You can send a THIS IS SMS text message to any mobile number in the world.
Can I send a text messages to an Outlook contact?

I've installed THIS IS SMS, but I can't find it

THIS IS SMS doesn't start.
If the app doesn’t start you will have to start it manually after installing it.
If you successfully installed THIS IS SMS, but you receive a message "Cannot contact THIS IS SMS", you probably have the wrong Internet settings for Java-programs. Find your "Java settings" and switch to use HTTP (not WAP). Contact your carrier for help.
I get warning messages when launching THIS IS SMS.
Some phones warn you that THIS IS SMS will use your mobile internet. Select OK or Yes in order to start THIS IS SMS. If you click no, your phone will block THIS IS SMS from accessing the internet, and THIS IS SMS won’t work.
